This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to quash the F.I.R in Crime No.35 of 2017 on the file of the Inspector of Police, Thiruchengode Rural Police Station, Namakkal District.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as Mr.S.Vinoth Kumar, learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent and perused the materials available on record.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that a false case has been foisted against the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

petitioner, merely on the confession statements of two individuals, which cannot be countenanced.

4. It is the specific stand of the Investigating Officer that for the purpose of claiming compensation, he himself has set fire in the godown.

5. It is to be noted that the case is in FIR stage. Therefore, merely because an attempt to set fire has not been fructified in getting compensation cannot be said that the entire FIR has to be quashed. It is a premature stage to go into all these aspects. It is for the investigation officer to file a final report and all the grounds can be raised only at the stage of trial.

6. In view of the above, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
