O R D E R

Challenging the order passed by the respondent in Na.Ka.No.18/Viru/Ka.Ni./2025, dated 05.08.2025, rejecting permission to conduct fasting demonstration for insisting the Government for enacting "Act to Prohibit Honour Killing" on 16.08.2025 from 09.00 a.m. to 04.00 p.m., the present writ petition has been filed. 2.The petitioner claims to be the organiser of Dalit Unarvaalargal Koottamaippu functioning for the development and protection of rights of dalits and downtrodden people. They wanted to conduct a hunger strike condemning honour killing and to impress upon the Government to enact a legislation in this aspect, and they sought permission to conduct such hunger strike on 16.08.2025. However, the said request was rejected by the respondent by impugned order dated 05.08.2025 on the ground that the petitioner has sought such permission in front of the Taluk office, which will cause hindrance to the public and others and create law and order problem.

3.Learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) would submit that the respondent has no objection to grant permission to conduct such hunger strike in a designated place called "Vanoli Thidal", Virudhachalam. 4.In such view of the matter, the petitioner shall give a fresh application to the respondent seeking permission to hold such hunger strike or dharna in the designated place on any date. If such application is filed, the respondent shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders. 5.With these directions, this writ petition is disposed of.
