Mr.S.Raveekumar Government Pleader (Puducherry) COMMON ORDER Contempt Petitions have been filed to punish the respondents for their willful disobedience of the order dated 25.11.2022.

2. Learned Government Pleader (Puducherry) appearing on behalf of the respondents would submit that issues were considered by Government of Puducherry and an order was passed by the Government of Puducherry on 17.07.2023.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that this Court has directed to resolve the issues. Therefore, the said order cannot be treated as compliance.

4. The interpretation offered on behalf of the petitioners is unacceptable, in view of the fact that this Court directed the respondents to consider the issues and take a decision as expeditiously as possible in order to resolve the issues.

5. Government has considered the issues, and if the order passed by Government is not favourable to the petitioners, they have to challenge the __________Page 2 of 4

said order in the manner known to law.

6. Thus, there is no willfull disobedience of the orders passed by this Court. Accordingly, the Contempt Petitions are closed. Consequently, the connected Sub-Applications, if any, are closed.
