O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 18.06.2024 wherein the petitioner has sought for disbursement of the increments of the petitioner for having completed B.Com degree during his service.

2. Heard Mr.S.N.Subramani, learned counsel appearing for petitioner, Mr.V.Nanmaran, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for first respondent and Mr.S.Arumugam, learned Government Advocate appearing for respondents 2 and 3.

3. It is seen from records that the petitioner worked as Junior Supervisor in the third respondent bank from 13.01.1976 to 31.05.2011. According to the petitioner, he completed B.Com degree in the year 1993 and therefore, the petitioner is entitled for an increment. The same was 2/4

not given to the petitioner during his service. The petitioner, after retiring in the year 2011 and after nearly 10 years, sent a representation in this regard. Thereafter, the petitioner follows it up with another representation in the year 2024.

4. In the considered view of this Court, the relief sought for by the petitioner is hit by laches. The petitioner, who had retired in 2011, is attempting to get an increment in the year 2024 at the age of 70 years. Such relief cannot be granted by this Court and this Court does not find any merits in this writ petition.

In the light of the above discussion, this Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs.
