ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to direct the respondent-Police to hand over the Original Sale Deed (Document No.1825 of 2022 dated 09.03.2022) and two original Rectification deeds (Documents Nos.970 and 971 of 2024 30.01.2024) of the petitioner's residential property which were taken from the petitioner's home on 29.01.2025 by the respondent during the period when the petitioner was under police custody.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent-Police and perused the materials available on record.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted the petitioner was arrested by the respondent-Police on 30.12.2024 and he was remanded to Judicial custody on 31.12.2024 for the alleged offences under Sections 8(c) read with Sections 22(b), 25, 29(1) of the NDPS Act, 1985 as accused No.9 in FIR 2/6

No.1176 of 2024. When the petitioner was under police custody for enquiry, the original documents were taken by the respondent-Police. Hence, the petitioner seeks to direction to the respondent Police to hand over the original documents.

4. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondentPolice, on instructions, submitted that the documents seized by the respondent Police were in CD file and the same will be returned to the petitioner.

5. The abovesaid statement of the respondent-Police is recorded. The petitioner is directed to approach the investigating officer, namely Mr.M.Ravi, Inspector of Police, K11, CMBT Police Station, Chennai for returning documents.

6. With the abovesaid direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
