ORDER

The writ petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking a direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's Appeal dated 11.11.2015 preferred against the order of second respondent in Na.Ka.No.34414/2014/S1 dated 16.10.2015 in the light of the clarifications issued by the Joint Director (Personnel), Directorate of Government Examination, Chennai-600 006 in Na.Ka.No.301278/B1/ 2005 dated 23.02.2006. 2.The case of the petitioner is that he was working as Village Assistant, Kadichampadi Village, Kancheepuram Taluk, Kanceepuram District. Though he has prescribed qualification for the promotion to the post of Village Administrative Officer for the year 2014-15, his name was not included in the panel issued https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

for the said promotion. Therefore, he submitted a representation to the Collector, Thanjavur District/the second respondent herein on 14.09.2015 requesting for inclusion of his name in the panel. However, by order dated 16.10.2015 passed in Na.Ka.No.34414/2014/S1, the second respondent informed the petitioner that he has secured less than 35 marks in Maths and Science in the SSLC examination and therefore he cannot be included in the panel. Therefore, the petitioner submitted an appeal to the Principal Secretary/Commissioner for Revenue Administration/the first respondent herein on 11.11.2015 stating the above said facts. But till date no order has been passed. 3.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents. 4.

In the light of the limited relief sought for in the writ petition, without going into the merits of the case, there shall be a direction to the first respondent to pass orders on the petitioner's appeal dated 11.11.2015, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
