ORDER

The petitioner has filed the above writ petition to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's application dated 6.11.2015 for the renewal of contract carriage permit in respect of Vehicle No. PY-02/J-6122 permitted to ply on the route Karukankudy to Dharamapuram for the period from 16.11.2015 to 15.11.2020.

2. Mr.M.Govindarajan, learned Government Pleader (Pondicherry), takes notice for the respondent and submitted that the respondent may be directed to consider the petitioner's application and pass on merits and in accordance with law.

3. Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side and also taking into consideration the limited prayer sought for in the writ petition, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 6.11.2015 for the renewal of contract https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

carriage permit in respect of vehicle No. PY-02/J-6122 and pass orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With this observation, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
