ORDER

(delivered by SATISH K. AGNIHOTRI, J.) Mrs. A. Srijayanthi, learned Special Government Pleader, accepts notice for the respondents. With consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal, at the admission stage itself.

The petitioner, claiming to be belonging to Hindu Kurumans (S.T.) community, made an application dated 09 July 2015 to the first respondent, viz., the District Collector, Chennai,

seeking such community certificate to himself and his children viz., R. Ashwin and R. Praveen. Pursuant thereto, the second respondent, viz., the Personal Assistant to the District Collector, by letter dated 10 August 2015, informed the fourth respondent, viz., the Tahsildar, to furnish a complete report on the issue, together with recommendations, to the office of the first respondent, within a period of two days. Yet, there has been no progress in the matter. Hence, the instant writ petition seeking a writ of mandamus directing the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's application qua issuance of community certificate, as aforestated.

Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Special Government Pleader submits that necessary orders will be passed on the petitioner's application, on its own merits and in accordance with law, following the guidelines laid down by a Division Bench of this Court in G.Venkitasamy and V.Balasubramaniam vs. The Chairman, State Level Scrutiny Committee and Secretary to Government, Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department, Namakkal Kavingar Maaligai, Fort St. George, Chennai - 91, within a period of six weeks.

In view of the above submission of the learned Special Government Pleader, it is ordered accordingly. The writ petition stands disposed of with the above observation. Costs made easy.
