Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for the records pertaining to the order passed by the 1st respondent in Government Letter No.69437/F2/2002, Higher Education Department, dated 29.08.2006 and quash the same, and direct the respondents to give Senior Scale Lecturer and Selection Grade Lecturer scale with effect from 31.08.1984 and 31.08.1992 respectively and confer all the consequential benefits to the petitioner.

O R D E R

The petitioner has filed this writ petition challenging the order of the first respondent dated 29.08.2006, wherein the petitioner's claim to count the entire period of Tutor service for career advancement was rejected.

2.The learned Special Government Pleader referring to paragraph no.12 of the counter affidavit would submit that the Tutor service does not qualify for career advancement. However, the Government taking a lenient view, have issued orders for counting half of the Tutor/ Demonstrator service for career advancement. It is the policy decision of the Government and the same is binding on all Lecturers including the petitioner.

3.In view of the above, nothing survives for adjudication in this writ petition and accordingly, this writ petition is closed. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition, if any, is also closed.
