This writ petition has been filed by Mr.H.Anthony Harry, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking a writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to consider the pending revision petition dated 31.03.2015 filed against the order of punishment of reduction in time scale of pay by one stage for one year without cumulative effect dated 22.03.2010, passed by the Joint Commissioner of Police, North Zone, Chennai.

2. Mr.P.Chinnadurai, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate, appearing for the respondents.

4. The petitioner had already reached the age of superannuation on 30.06.2009. However, he has been visited with the above mentioned order of punishment of reduction in time scale of pay by one stage for one year without cumulative effect and as against that, he has preferred a revision, which is not disposed of till now. Therefore, the 1st respondent is directed to consider and pass final orders on the petitioner's revision petition, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
