Respondent PRAYER: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to pass orders on the representation dated 11.11.2015, seeking fixation of retiral benefits in the Post Assistant Town Planning Officer, including revised pension etc., with effect from 25.6.1999, till the date of superannuation on merits and within a time to be stipulated by this Hon'ble Court.

The petitioner Mr.D.T.Jothilingam, who joined as Building Inspector in the year 1977 and subsequently promoted as the Junior Engineer Planning and then as Assistant Town Planning Officer, got retirement from service with effect from 30.04.2011. However, he had a grievance that his pensionary benefits have not been properly settled for the reason that the services rendered in the post of Assistant Town Planning Officer has not been considered properly. In this regard, he has also given a representation on 11.11.2015 and the said representation came to be presented in view of the belated settlement of the retiral benefits by the respondent. Therefore, he has sought for early disposal of the same.
2. Mr.J.Sathyanarayanaprasad, learned standing counsel takes notice for the respondent Corporation.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and learned standing counsel appearing for the respondent Corporation.
4. Considering the merits of the matter, there shall be a direction to the respondent Corporation to consider and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, on the pending representation made by the petitioner, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
