O R D E R

The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the second respondent to pay compensation in respect of his land situated in survey no.160/1B2, Mugaiyur Village, Cheyyur Taluk, Chengalpattu District, which was acquired by the National Highways.

2. By consent of both the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as respondents, this writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage itself.

3. It is the case of the petitioner that he acquired the above mentioned property under registered settlement deed executed in his favour by his father on 15.06.2022 and also obtained patta for the said property in his name. While so, a portion of the above mentioned property belonging to the petitioner viz., Survey No.160/1B2, measuring an extent of 240sq.meter, was acquired by 2/5

the respondents for the purpose of National Highways. In this regard, the first respondent issued a notice bearing e/f/vz;.743/2022 kh/g[-myF=3. dated December 2022 calling upon the petitioner to appear before him with necessary documents to establish his right over the property. Accordingly, the petitioner appeared before the first respondent and submitted the relevant documents in respect of the above mentioned property. However, till date, no steps have been taken with regard to payment of compensation payable to the petitioner. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court.

4. Mr.Sathish, learned Additional Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondents would submit that enquiry initiated by the second respondent based on the first respondent's proceedings in e/f/vz;.743/2022 kh/g[-myF=3. will be finished within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court.

5. In view of the above submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, this Court is inclined to issue a direction to the first respondent to complete the enquiry initiated in his proceedings in e/f/vz;.743/2022 kh/g[- 3/5

myF=3. and pass final orders, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
