This writ petition has been filed to forbear the respondents from detaining the petitioner's son namely M.Parthiban under preventive detention law, particularly under Tamil Nadu Goundas Act 14 of 1982.

2. The petitioner seeks direction to the respondents not to detain the petitioner's son. Now, almost two years have been https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

lapsed and hence, due to the lapse of period, the prayer sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted now. However, the petitioner is at liberty to file a fresh petition, on fresh cause of action, if so advised.

3. With the above observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
