ORDER
The writ petitioner seeks a direction to the second respondent to restore the name of the petitioner Gopinath in the Family Ration Card bearing No.NPHH/333323230423 issued to the family of the petitioner with the address of Indra Nagar, Kasthampadi, Polur Taluka, Tiruvannamalai District on the basis of the
representation of the petitioner dated 22.07.2024 with immediate effect to enable the petitioner to buy ration goods.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that the second respondent had issued family card to the family of the petitioner with the above said address. On 02.05.2023, the petitioner's mother died, for which, subsequently, her name has been removed from the family card. Thereafter, when the petitioner went to buy rice and other materials and attempted to put his thumb impression, it was not accepted by the said machine. On verification, it came to know that the petitioner name was removed from the family card and he was informed that the petitioner is no more by his own brother and relatives and produced some death certificate. Due to said reason of intimation about the death of the petitioner, the officials have removed the name of the petitioner from the family Card, for which, the petitioner has made a representation to the second respondent to restore the name of the petitioner in family card and the same has not been considered so far. Hence, the present writ petition.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that this Court may direct the respondents to consider and pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.
4. The learned Government Counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that the representation will be considered and an appropriate orders will be passed
within the time frame as fixed by this Court.
5. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Government Counsel and perused the materials available on record.
6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and in view of the limited request sought for by the petitioner, this Court directs the 3rd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 23.07.2024 and pass orders within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
