C.V.KARTHIKEYAN , J.

The petitioner seeks anticipatory bail in Crime No.53 of 2023 registered by the respondent police for the offences under Sections 24(ii) r/w 6(b) of COTPA Act, and Section 77 of JJ Act, 2015.

2. It is stated that the 1st accused had been arrested and remanded to judicial custody for selling of banned tobacco product called 'Hans'. On the confession statement of the arrested 1st accused, the respondent had also implicated the petitioner as 2nd accused. It is stated that the petitioner had filed two anticipatory bail petitions earlier and the same had been dismissed.

3. It is stated on behalf of the respondent that there are nine previous cases pending against the petitioner herein, out of which, in six cases, he had been convicted.

4. Taking into consideration the antecedents of the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this criminal original petition stands dismissed.

5. The respondent police is directed to take the petitioner into custody within a period of 10 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
