This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus seeking for a direction to the 1st respondent to pass final orders on the petitioner's representation dated 23.10.2017 seeking for compassionate appointment for her Son Velumani, on account of death of her husband Maari on 26.09.2017, while he was in public service.

4. The petitioner's Son Velumani is a B.A. Graduate. Her husband Maari died while he was in public service on 26.09.2017. In such circumstances, the petitioner has given a representation on 23.10.2017 to the respondents requesting for compassionate appointment in favour of her Son Velumani. Since the representation has not been considered till date, she has filed this writ petition.

5. Heard Mr.A.G. Rajan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.E.Sundaram, learned Government Advocate for the respondents.

6. No prejudice would be caused to the respondents, if the petitioner's representation as stated supra is considered on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

7. For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the 1st respondent to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioner's representation dated 23.10.2017 seeking for grant of compassionate appointment to her Son Velumani on account of the death of her husband Maari on 2/4

26.09.2017, while he was in public service, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

8. With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
