O R D E R

The petitioner herein is a whistle blower who brought to light the illegal mining of minerals in the Nagapattinam District. The Additional Superintendent of Police conducted enquiry on his complaint, after concluding that there is rampant illicit mining in the Nagapattinam District. He also recommended police protection for the petitioner herein.

2. The Government Advocate (Crl.Side) submitted that the report of the Additional Superintendent of Police, Nagapattinam, has been received by the Superintendent of Police, Nagapattinam and necessary arrangements will be made to provide police protection to the petitioner herein. Based on the recommendation of the Additional Superintendent of Police, an undertaking is recorded. The Station House Officer of the jurisdiction shall make appropriate arrangements to protect the life of the petitioner.

3. With the above observation, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
