ORDER

The petitioners claim that they are the employees of the Hindustan Photo Films Manufacturing Company Limited, Indu Nagar, Udhagamandalam and would state that admittedly, the said Unit became defunct and so many revival proposals initiated to refloat the factory has ended in vain and therefore, left with no other option, the petitioners have submitted applications for going on voluntary retirement pursuant to the circular issued by the respondent dated 25.02.2015 and though their request for going on voluntary retirement has been accepted and orders have been passed, the other consequential benefits have not been conferred on the petitioners. In this regard, they submitted a representation dated 1.2.2016 to the respondent and since no orders have been passed, they came forward to file this writ petition.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr.V.Kalyanaraman, learned counsel who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent.

This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioners and without going into the merits of the same, directs the respondent to consider the petitioners' representation dated 1.2.2016 on merits and pass orders in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken to the petitioners. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
