Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a writ of Mandamus to direct the 5th respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner given through his father Mr.P.Gandhi on 04.08.2025 within a stipulated time frame fixed by this Court and to consider the petitioner for admission to MBBS course for the academic year 2025-2026 under the freedom fighters quota.

ORDER
The present writ petition has been filed with a prayer for writ of mandamus to direct the fifth respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner given through his father dated 04.08.2025 within a stipulated time.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is eligible for consideration under the Freedom Fighters quota. However, in the provisional list, his name has been placed at Serial No.22, whereas, only 15 2/6
seats are reserved under the Freedom Fighters quota. It is further submitted that if the list is revised in accordance with the existing merit, the petitioner would come within the zone of consideration. In this connection, the petitioner's father has submitted a representation on 04.08.2025 and such representation is still pending before the fifth respondent.
3. At this juncture, the learned Additional Government Pleader (Pondicherry) would submit that the person competent to identify the persons who comes under the Freedom Fighters quota is the third respondent. Therefore, if the petitioner submits a representation to the third respondent, the same will be duly considered.
4. I have given my anxious consideration to either side submissions and also perused the materials available on record.
5. While looking at the facts of the case and the documents, the petitioner has already submitted a representation to the fifth respondent and the third respondent was also arrayed as a party to the present petition. 3/6
Therefore, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the fifth respondent to dispose of the petitioner's above representation dated 04.08.2025 in consultation with the third respondent and pass orders according to its own merits and in accordance with law within a period of Ten (10) days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above observations, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition stands closed. 26.08.2025 ssi Index : Yes Speaking Order : Yes /No 4/6
