Heard Mr.M.D.Thirunavukkarasu, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Varunkumar, learned Standing Counsel for the respondents and with the consent of the learned counsel appearing on either side, the writ petition is taken up for
final disposal.
2.The petitioner has filed this Writ Petition praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the fourth respondent to consider her representation dated on 2.12.2015, wherein she has pointed out that the Meter Box has to be sent for checking. Since her representation is yet to be considered, she has approached this Court.
3.As per the written instructions given by the fourth respondent, the learned Standing Counsel submitted that the Meter reading was wrongly entered by the Assessor, action has also been taken against the said Assessor and he has been placed under suspension.
4.However, the written instruction does not specifically state as to why the petitioner's request for sending the Meter Box for checking should not be accepted.
5.In the light of the above, without going into the merits of the claims made by the petitioner, there will be a direction to the fourth respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 02.12.2015, and inform the petitioner in writing the exact state of affairs, so as to enable her to work out her remedy in the manner known to law. The above direction shall be complied with by the fourth respondent within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of this order. The Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. Consequently connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
