SRMIST/Reg/STU.tap.9991-Estt/2024/2874 issued by the second respondent and quash the same and consequentially to direct the respondents herein to readmit the petitioner as a student of the respondent's University to pursue his Engineering degree. O R D E R

The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for the records connected with the expulsion order dated 11.09.2024 in SRMIST/Reg/STU.tap.9991Estt/2024/2874 issued by the second respondent and quash the same and consequentially direct the respondents to readmit the petitioner as a student of the respondent's University to pursue his Engineering degree.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is the first year student of the first respondent and vide impugned order the petitioner was expelled from the Institution on the allegation that the petitioner was indulged in immoral activity. The learned counsel further submitted that at the intervention of this Court, the expulsion order was revoked and the petitioner was transferred from Kattankulathur campus to Vadapalani campus. 2/4

Hence, no further adjudication is necessary in this writ petition, however, this Court may issue direction to the respondents to adjust the tuition fees and hostel fees already paid by the petitioner in the future bill and further submitted that if any amount is to be paid by the petitioner, the petitioner will pay the same. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that whatever amount paid by the petitioner towards tuition fees is over and the petitioner has to pay the tuition fees applicable for the Vadapalani campus, however, the hostel fees paid by the petitioner will be adjusted in the second year in Vadapalani campus if any excess hostel fees available.

4.In view of the subsequent development, there shall be a direction to the respondents to adjust the hostel fees paid by the petitioner, if any available, in the second year in Vadapalani campus. 5.The writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. 30.10.2024 3/4
