Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.S.Gunasekaran, learned Additional Government Pleader, who took notice for the respondent and with their consent, the main writ petition itself is taken up for hearing.
2. The petitioner has come to this Court seeking a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to dispose of the pending appeal dated 18.8.2014 filed against the award of punishment of increment for two years which shall not operate his future increments, passed by the Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai dated "Nil".
3. Considering the limited prayer made by the petitioner, without going into the merits of the matter, the respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the pending appeal dated 18.8.2014, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
4. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
