This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a mandamus to direct the first respondent to cancel the patta (Patta No.1491) issued in the name of the sixth respondent for the property situated at Survey No.20/4 A 2, 20/3 A1 B, Seriyanthal Village, Tiruvannamalai Taluk and District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 01.12.2023.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Additional Government Pleader for respondents 1 and 2 and the learned Government Advocate for the sixth respondent and perused the materials available on record.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that though the petitioner submitted a representation dated 01.12.2023 seeking to cancel the Patta issued in favour of the sixth respondent for the subject property, the first respondent has not passed any order so far. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.

4. Mr.V.Veluchamy, learned Additional Government Pleader for respondents 1 and 2 submitted that the first respondent may be directed to consider the petitioner's representation and pass orders on merits in accordance with law, after giving notice to all the interested parties, within a time frame.

5. Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, taking into consideration the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, this Court directs the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 01.12.2023, and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, after giving notice to all interested parties and Page Nos.3/5

after enquiry, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With these observations, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
