ORDER
This Writ Petition (Criminal) has been filed seeking a direction to grant compensation of Rs.50,00,000/- to the petitioner on account of the murder of her daughter.

Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.

The petitioner got married to the accused on 14.12.2017 and, out of their wedlock, a female child was born on 01.11.2018. Subsequently, when the child was seven years old, her own father murdered her by slitting her throat. Pursuant to the same, a case was registered in Crime No.200 of 2025 by the Inspector of Police, St.Thomas Mount Police Station, Chennai. Now, the
investigation has been completed and a final report was filed, which is pending for taking cognizance by the competent Court. 4.
That apart, there was a family dispute between the petitioner and her husband, resulted in registration of two other FIRs. Now, the petitioner's husband is also detained under Act 14. While being so, the petitioner submitted a representation seeking compensation under the Victim Compensation Scheme. Admittedly, the petitioner's daughter was murdered by her own father. That apart, the representation submitted by the petitioner is premature and only the Trial Court can consider and order compensation under Section 357(A) of the Code of Criminal Procedure under the Victim Compensation Scheme. 5.
Therefore, at this stage, the representation submitted by the petitioner seeking compensation cannot be considered. Thus, the writ petition is devoid of merits and is liable to be dismissed. Accordingly, this Writ Petition (Criminal) stands dismissed. However, the petition is at liberty to pursue her claim for compensation before the Trial Court at the end of the trial.
