ORDER

The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 30.07.2025, for the offence punishable under Sections 4 (1) (i), 4 (1) (A) (ii) of TNP Amendment Act, 2024 in Crime No.187 of 2025, registered on the file of the respondent, seeks bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that, on 30.07.2025, based on secret information, the respondent Police arrived at Ayyampalayan village. When the petitioner was intercepted, he was found in illegal possession of Day and Night Brandy, 5 bottles of 180ml each. Hence, the case.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is an innocent person and has been falsely implicated in this case by the respondent Police. He further submits that the petitioner is in judicial custody from 30.07.2025. Hence, prayed for grant of bail to the petitioner.

4.The learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) submits that final report has already been filed and if the petitioner is released on bail, she will indulge in similar offence. He further submits that the petitioner is having ten previous cases. Hence, strongly opposed for grant of bail to the petitioner.

5.Heard the learned counsels on either side and perused the records. 6.Considering the nature of offence, the fact that the petitioner is having ten previous cases and since custodial interrogation of the petitioner is very much required, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition stands

dismissed.
