Respondents Writ Petition filed for the issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the first respondent to forthwith take all necessary steps to enable appointment of the President of the State Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission of Tamil Nadu expeditiously in consonance with the directions of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in Ashish Handa - Vs - Chief Justice of Punjab & Haryana (1993 (3) SCC 145).

ORDER

(DELIVERED BY HULUVADI G.RAMESH, J.) This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner for a direction on the respondents to take steps for the appointment of President of the State Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission of Tamil Nadu expeditiously.

2. When the matter is taken up today, learned Special Government Pleader brought to the notice of this Court the letter dated 18.3.16 addressed to him by the Registrar, State Disputes Consumer Redressal Commission, wherein it has been informed that the Hon'ble Chief Justice has been moved for appointment of President and that the matter is pending with the Hon'ble Chief Justice.

3. As is evident from the above submission, the matter being seized of by the Hon'ble Chief Justice, it would be suffice to direct the Registrar, State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission to pursue the matter with the Hon'ble High Court for the early appointment of the President. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of.
