O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to renew the petitioner's Notary Registration No.8394 granted by the respondent on 21.09.2010, as per the online application Reference No.NR/2021/05683 dated 26.03.2021 and by considering the applications dated 22.06.2016, 28.06.2016, 17.08.2017 and 25.09.2017.

2. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner has made applications on 22.06.2016, 28.06.2016, 17.08.2017 and 25.09.2017 before the respondent for renewal of his Notary Registration No.8394 granted by the respondent and has also made application through online on 26.03.2021, however, no action has been taken. Therefore, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition with the aforesaid prayer.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice, if the respondent is directed to dispose of the application dated 26.03.2021 made through online and the application dated 25.09.2017 made by the petitioner, on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period.

4. The learned Central Government Counsel appearing for the respondent has no serious objection for such an order being passed by this Court.

5. Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the respondent to consider the application dated 26.03.2021 made through online and the application dated 25.09.2017 made by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Central Government Counsel appearing for the respondent.

3. Considering the submissions made, this Court directs the words "no serious objection" in paragraph No.4 of the order dated 01.10.2024 shall be replaced with "serious objection".
