ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by M.M.SUNDRESH, J.) When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the respondents 1 and 3 submitted that particulars of the Teachers and Faculty Members who are not qualified and thus appointed contrary to the Rules have been received from various Institutions and as well as the petitioner. Appropriate action is being taken and would be taken based upon the same.

2.We make it clear that on the intimation received, action would be initiated, if not done, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. We also make it clear that we have not expressed anything on the merits of the case.

3.However, we make it clear that the University Grants Commission shall also take appropriate action with respect to the unqualified teachers appointed as per law. Respondents 1 and 3 are also directed to intimate the University Grants Commission with respect to the receipt of unqualified teachers and the ongoing action apart from the action taken already.

4.In view of the above, contempt petition stands closed. Consequently, connected Sub Application is closed.
