(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) The petition filed in public interest had been listed before us today and when the matter is taken up, the learned counsel for the petitioner states that he would like to engage a senior counsel. This is the first listing. We have gone through the brief. There was no reason to bring up the matter before us if the petitioner was not ready. It is not a case where the counsel is in some personal difficulty. We proceed to order.
2.On a perusal of the petition, we find that the petitioner has neither any special knowledge or skills in respect of subject matter, i.e. allegation of deforestation. He claims, he is not an income-tax assessee, does have a PAN Card and earns about Rs.50,000/- per annum from doing printing work. He is a resident of Chennai. He seeks to raise an issue about Kallaparai Village in Vellore District based on a paper publication of an alleged notice and a representation dated 27.02.2016 in this behalf has also been sent to the respondents. It is clearly a case of either for publicity or has been set up.
3.We find this public interest litigation completely misconceived and refuse to exercise jurisdiction. 4.Writ Petition stands dismissed. No costs.
