Respondent Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to dispose of the petitioners' representation dated 09.12.2015 to pass appropriate orders on the said representation expeditiously within the time frame to be specified by this Court.

ORDER

The learned counsel for the petitioner is absent. This Court, taking into consideration, the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioner, is inclined to dispose of the writ petition itself.

The writ petition is filed by the Power of Attorney agent of the five petitioners and in the affidavit filed in support of this writ petition, it is averred among other things, the petitioners claim to be the owners of certain extent of land and in the year 2014, they found out certain discrepancies and in this regard, they filed an appeal before the respondent,

viz., the District Revenue Officer, praying for cancelling the ransfer of patta in favour of M/s.ARR Charitable Trust, Sri Kris na Tile and Potteries [Madras] Pvt. Ltd., and M/s.Ozone Proje ts Pvt. Ltd., in respect of the property in TS.No.1, Old Su vey Nos.229/1A part and 229/2 part and 230 part, Block No.26, Ko ambedu Village, Aminjikarai Taluk, Chennai and to restore the ame in their names and since it has not been given disposal, the petitioners through their Power Agent, came forward to file the present writ petition.

This Court heard the submissions of Mr.R.Govindasamy, learned Special Government Pleader who appears on behalf of the respondent. He would submit that the competent authority to consider the grievance of the petitioners, is the Revenue Divisional Officer, Egmore, Chennai-600008.

This Court, taking into consideration, the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioners and without going into the merits of the claim projected by them either in their appeal dated 09.12.2015 or in this writ petition, permits them to submit a representation to the Revenue Divisional Officer, Egmore, Chennai-600008, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and the said official, on receipt of the said representation, shall consider the same on merits and in accordance with law, after putting on notice, M/s.ARR Charitable Trust, Sri Krishna Tile and Potteries [Madras] Pvt. Ltd., and M/s.Ozone Projects Pvt. Ltd., and pass orders within a further period of three months thereafter and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner as well as to M/s.ARR Charitable Trust, Sri Krishna Tile and Potteries [Madras] Pvt. Ltd., and M/s.Ozone Projects Pvt. Ltd. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
