O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus seeking for a direction to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 07.10.2022 seeking for compassionate appointment on account of the death of his mother viz.,Mrs.Paparakanni who died on 26.11.2010.

2. Heard, the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Muthuswamy, learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. By consent of the parties, the writ petition has been 2/6

taken up for final disposal

3. Mrs.Paparakanni was working as a Cook in the Adi Dravidar Welfare Department, Perambalur and she died on 26.11.2010 while in service. The petitioner, who is her son, seeks for compassionate appointment. The petitioner claims that he had submitted an application, seeking for compassionate appointment with the respondents on 14.03.2011. Thereafter, the petitioner claims that he has submitted several representations seeking for compassionate appointment, but the same have not been considered till date. In such circumstances, the petitioner has filed this writ petition.

4. The last representation given by the petitioner was on 07.10.2022. No prejudice would be caused to the respondents if the petitioner's representation dated 07.10.2022 is considered on merits and in accordance with law within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

5. For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the second 3/6

respondent to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioner's representation dated 07.10.2022 seeking for compassionate appointment on account of the death of his mother viz., Mrs.Paparakanni, who died on 26.11.2010 while in service, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With the aforesaid direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
