(Order of the court was made by R.Mahadevan, J.) This miscellaneous petition has been filed by the petitioners/appellants seeking to condone the delay of 547 days in filing the above writ appeal.

2. Heard the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the petitioners and perused the affidavit filed in support of this petition, wherein, it has been stated that the Chief Educational Officer/Nodal Officer was wholly occupied in his work such as conducting X, XI and XII standard public examinations 2022, exam papers evaluation, publishing results, Illam Thedi Kalvi Scheme, state wide court case updation in Legal Management System (LMS app), district level non-teaching staff members transfer and their promotion counselling and state wide general transfer counselling for Teachers from June to July 2023. Hence, there was a delay of 547 days in filing the appeal, which is neither wilful nor wanton and therefore, the delay may be condoned.

3. Having regard to the reasons stated by the petitioners, which appear to be bona fide, considering the huge delay in filing the writ appeal, we are inclined to condone the delay subject to payment of costs of Rs.2,000/- by the petitioners to the Tamil Nadu Mediation and Conciliation Centre, High Court, Madras, within two weeks time from the date of receipt of copy of this order. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
