O R D E R

Wife of the petitioner herein has given a complaint to the respondent police alleging dowry harassment. Police has taken the complaint in C.S.R.No.292 of 2023. When the petitioner was summoned to appear and participate in the enquiry, instead of participating in the enquiry the 1/3

petitioner sent a representation dated 14.09.2023 intimating that he has instituted a petition for dissolution of marriage before the Sub Court, Tittakkudi and had abstained from participating in the enquiry.

2. This petition is filed seeking direction not to harass. From the averment in the petition, this Court does not find any material that the police harassed the petitioner. When the complaint has been given regarding cognizable offence, it is the duty of the police to enquire about the veracity of the complaint.

In the said context, calling the suspected accused cannot be considered as harassment. Hence this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
