Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent herein to forthwith consider the representation of the petitioner dated 31.07.2023 and take action against the respondents 2 and 3 herein as per the provisions of the Panchayats Act.

ORDER

(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) We have heard Mr.Karthik Lakshmanan, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.K.Karthik Jegannath, learned Government Advocate for the first respondent and Mr.R.Rajarajan, learned counsel for the respondents 2 and 3.

2. The Assistant Director (Panchayats), Chengalpet, has issued a communication to the State Government Pleader stating that enquiry is conducted and has submitted the enquiry report. Based upon the findings of the Enquiry Officer, show cause notice will be issued to the Kelambakkam Village Panchayat President and Vice President.

3. In view of the fact that action is initiated against the respondents 2 and 3, the purpose of the writ petition now does not survive.

4. In the light of that, the writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
