ORDER
The prayer sought for herein is for a writ of mandamus directing the second respondent herein to correct the petitioner's mother name as Nagarathinam instead of Varalakshmi in birth certificate bearing Registration number COC/1994/03/048/000563/0 issued by the 2nd respondent herein pursuant to the representation dated 06.08.2022.
2. The petitioner's mother one Nagarathinam, whose name according to the petitioner has been wrongly entered in the birth certificate issued by the second respondent in the name of the petitioner's mother as Varalakshmi and in order to rectify the same and to pass orders on merits, the petitioner has moved the present writ petition.
3. Heard Mr.M.Rajkumar, who having reiterated the aforesaid would seek indulgence of this Court.
4. Heard Ms.P.T.Ramadevi, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents, who would submit that the said representation given by the petitioner dated 06.08.2022 can be considered and decided on merits and in accordance with law within a time frame that may 2/4
stipulated by this Court.
5. Considering the innocuous nature of the prayer sought for in this writ petition and having regard to the said submission made by the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents, this Court is inclined to dispose of this writ petition with the following orders: That there shall be a direction to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 06.08.2022 and pass orders thereon on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four(4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
