ORDER

The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 14.07.2025, for the offences punishable under Sections 8(c), 20(b)(ii)(B), 29(1) of NDPS Act in Crime No. 588 of 2025, on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that based on the secret information, the respondent went to the scene of occurrence and found that the petitioners along with other accused were found to be in illegal possession of 2kg 100 grams of ganja. Hence, the case.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioners are innocent persons and the case been put up falsely by the respondent police. He submits that they have not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. He also submits that the petitioners are ready to abide by any conditions that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prays for grant of bail to the petitioner.

4. The petitioners along with three others were found in possession of 2kg 100 grams of ganja selling near residential area. They were arrested on 14.07.2025. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) opposed for grant of Page No.2/4

bail on the ground that the petitioners are closely associated with rowdy sheeter in the locality and have bad antecedents. If they released on bail, there will be recurrence of crime.

6. Considering the stage of investigation, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioners. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed for the present.
