ORDER

The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 19.07.2025, for the offence punishable under Section 305 of BNS, in Crime No.382 of 2025, registered on the file of the respondent, seeks bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that, the petitioner had committed theft of kitchen articles,

Grinder and eight Gas Cylinders from the Amma Unavagam in Timlus Road, Zone - 6, Greater Chennai Corporation. Hence, the case. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner aged about 19 years, is working as a contract labourer in the Southern Railway. He further submits that the petitioner is an innocent person who has been falsely implicated in this case by the respondent Police. He also submits that the petitioner has been in judicial custody from 19.07.2025. Hence, prays for grant of bail to the petitioner.

4.The learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) appearing for the respondent Police submits that, except for Gas Cylinders, no other kitchen articles were recovered. He further submits that the petitioner has no bad antecedents; however, since, the investigation is still pending, he strongly opposes the grant of bail to the petitioner. 5.Heard the learned counsels on either side and perused the records. 6.Considering the nature of the offence, the fact that the investigation is still pending, the fact that the stolen articles have not been recovered, and since the custodial interrogation of the petitioner is very much required, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. 18-08-2025
