ORDER

This petition has been filed to transfer the investigation of the case in Crime No.598 of 2016 pending on the file of the 3rd respondent police to the CBCID wing of Nagapattinam District.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the accused had allegedly robbed 600 grams of jewels from the petitioner. Though FIR has been launched in the year 2016, the same is still in the investigation stage. The status report filed by the third respondent indicates that despite the confession of A1 and A2 indicating the involvement of others, no progress been made in the investigation.

3. In such view of the matter, this Court is of the view that the continuation of investigation by the 3rd respondent will not serve any purpose.

4. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is allowed and the case in Crime No.598 of 2016 pending on the file of the 3rd respondent police is transferred to CBCID wing of Nagapattinam District, now Mayiladuthurai. The CBCID is hereby directed to conduct an investigation and file a final report and the 3rd respondent shall handover all the case files to CBCID wing of Nagapattinam District, now Mayiladuthurai.
