ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the first respondent to deal with the application submitted by the petitioner on 10.01.2025 wherein the petitioner is seeking for issuance of passport in his name.

2. Heard Mr.V.Gunasekar, learned counsel for petitioner, Mr.S.Senthil Kumar, learned counsel appearing for first respondent and Mr.V.Meganathan, learned Government Advocate [Crl.side] appearing for second respondent.

3. Learned Government Advocate [Crl.side] appearing for the second respondent, on instructions, submitted that totally three criminal cases were registered against the petitioner, out of this, two cases ended in acquittal and the remaining case in Crime No.680 of 2017 is pending investigation.

4. As on today, there is only one case pending against the petitioner 2/4

in Crime No.680 of 2017 on the file of second respondent. Hence, there shall be a direction to the first respondent to act upon the application submitted by the petitioner on 10.01.2025 and issue passport in the name of the petitioner if the petitioner satisfies all the other requirements. This process shall be completed within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction.
