Respondents Prayer: Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records relating to G.O.Ms.No.124, Municipal Administration and Water Supply (Election) Department dated 16.09.2016 published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette No.216 dated 16.09.2016-PartIII - Section 1(a) and quash the same insofar as it relates to the allocation of the post of the Chairman of the Thirunindravur Town Panchayat to Women (General) and consequently, direct the Secretary of the Government of Tamil Nadu, Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department, the first respondent herein to consider the petitioner's representation dated 03.03.2017 and to initiate appropriate action for allocating the post of the Chairman of the Thirunindravur Town Panchayat as one reserved for the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates, either women or men, in the ensuing local bodies elections in
compliance of section 3-W-4(a) of the Tamil Nadu District Municipalities Act, 1920.

ORDER
(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) The matter pertains to a representation apparently made by the petitioner to the first respondent on March 03, 2017 for allocating the post of Chairman of the Thirunindravur Town Panchayat.
2. It is submitted on behalf of the official respondents that the representation said to have been made in 2017, may have been misplaced or is otherwise unavailable.
3. Accordingly, the writ petitioner is permitted to make a fresh representation within four weeks from date, whereupon the first respondent should consider the same in accordance with law and communicate a reasoned decision to the writ petitioner within eight weeks from the receipt thereof.
4. W.P.No.22295 of 2017 is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs. As a consequence, WMP No.23385 of 2017 is closed.
