The Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent Police to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 28.06.2025.

The grievance of the petitioner is that on 16.06.2025, he 1/4

visited the Sub Jail, Thanjavur, to meet his relative Pannerselvam, who was confined in the said prison. At that time, the officials on duty allegedly demanded bribe from the petitioner and on his refusal, they ill-treated him. Hence, the present petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 28.06.2025 . 3.

The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), on instructions, submitted that the petitioner did not visit the prison on 16.06.2025 and there is no entry in the visitors' register maintained in the prison to that effect. It was further submitted that the petitioner had visited the prison only on 18.06.2025 and that the said Pannerselvam, whom the petitioner intended to meet, had expressed his unwillingness to meet the petitioner.

In view of the above, the entries in the Visitors' register clearly indicate that petitioner did not visit the prison on 16.06.2025 and that the representation made by the petitioner appears to be false. Therefore, this Court does not find any merit in the petition and the direction sought by the petitioner cannot be granted.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition (Criminal) stands dismissed. No costs.
