O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to complete the enquiry in TDP Case No.4/2023 within the time frame fixed by this Court.

2. Heard Mr.A.Navaneethakrishnan, learned Senior Counsel for 1/4

petitioner and Mr.V.P.R.Elamparithi, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for respondent.

3. The case of the petitoner is that he is working as a Deputy Inspector General of Resigration at Thanjavur. TDP Case No.4/2023 was initiated against the petitioner and charge was also framed on 10.02.2023. The grievance of the petitioner is that the proceedings are kept pending and in the mean time, the promotional avenues of the petitioner is being defeated and thereby, the name of the petitioner was not added in the panel for promotion to the post of Additional Inspector General of Registration for the year 2022-2023. It is under these circumstances, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court seeking a direction to the respondents to complete the proceedings within the time frame fixed by this Court.

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the materials placed before this Court and also considering the fact that the proceedings are pending for more than a year, there shall be a direction to the respondent to complete the enquiry and take a final decision in TDP Case No.4/2023 within a period of six (6) weeks from 2/4

the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
