Contempt Petition No.2584 of 2022 has been filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, to punish the respondents for wilful disobedience of the order passed by this Court in W.A.No.586 of 2018, dated 26.10.2021.

ORDER
(By S.Vaidyanathan,J.) Mr.S.Syed Musthafa, learned Special Government Pleader (Puducherry), appearing for the respondents, has filed an Additional Counter Affidavit of the respondents, dated 14.06.2023, wherein it is stated that the entire payment as per the orders of this Court will be made within this Financial Year. Relevant Paragraph No.9 of the said Affidavit is extracted below :
''9. I humbly submit that necessary provisions for Rs.12.60 Cr. will be made in the Revised Estimate 2023-2024 for disbursing arrears of Permanent Travelling Allowance (PTA) in respect of the 946 nos. of IRBN personnel for the period from 17.04.2006 to 31.01.2023 and the payment will be made within this Financial Year.''
2. Learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that in case of noncompliance of the above statement, the petitioners may be permitted to file a fresh contempt.

3. It is needless to mention that in case of non-compliance of the orders of this Court and the amount not being paid before 31.03.2024, it is open for the petitioners to file a fresh Contempt Petition. However, this observation cannot be taken as a leverage by the respondents for availing further time.
