2. Mrs.Santhakumari, ... Respondents Contempt Petition filed to punish the respondents herein for disobeying the order dated 19.06.2018 made in W.P.No.14779/2018 passed by this Court. For Respondents COMMON ORDER These Contempt Petitions have been filed to punish the respondents for the disobedience of the Common Orders dated 19.06.2018 passed in W.P.Nos.14779 to 14781/2018 and W.P.Nos.14782 and 14783/2018 by this Court. 2.

When the matters were called, the learned Counsel for the petitioners made a statement that the direction given by this Court to the Tahsildar, Tambaram to conduct enquiry and submit a report to the Revenue Divisional Officer, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of that order and on receipt of the report, the Revenue Divisional Officer, Tambaram, shall consider the appeals filed by the petitioners and pass appropriate orders within a period of two weeks thereafter, have been duly complied with, however, with a delay of 1 1⁄2 years. 4/8

In reply, Mr.M.Elumalai, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents stated that the earlier Revenue Divisional Officer who has to comply with the direction issued by this Court was placing criminal proceedings initiated by the Vigilance and Anti Corruption Department, as a result, the said post remained vacant and after filling up the said post, the recently appointed Revenue Divisional Officer has complied with the order of this Court, therefore, the delay occurred was only due to the aforementioned bonafide reason. 4.

Accepting the reason offered by the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents, since the directions of this Court have been complied with, the Contempt Petitions stand closed.

At this stage, the learned Counsel for the petitioners stated that the order dated 06.03.2020 passed by the Revenue Divisional Officer informs that the if any petitioners aggrieved, shall prefer a revision before the District Revenue Officer, Chengalpattu, within a period of 60 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, but, the petitioners have received the copy of the order dated 06.03.2020 through Whats app only yesterday i.e. on 25.08.2020. Therefore, according to the learned Counsel for the petitioners, the time to prefer revision before the District Revenue Officer has to be extended.

In view of the fact that due to Covid-19 pandemic situation, the petitioners have received the order copy only on 25.08.2020, that too, through whats app, the time to prefer revision before the District Revenue Officer by the petitioners, if aggrieved, is extended for 60 days from today i.e. on 26.08.2020 who on receipt of the same shall consider the revision and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law. 7.

With the above observation and direction, the Contempt Petitions are closed.
