The petitioner herein apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 334(2) & 305(a) of BNS, 2023, 1/2 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

rpl in Crime No.454 of 2025, on the file of the respondent Police, seeks anticipatory bail.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police opposed the grant of bail to the petitioner and submitted that the petitioner herein, who is the driver of a container lorry, instead of delivering the container at the port, had diverted it and sold it elsewhere. The goods worth Rs.1 crore are yet to be recovered. The petitioner is now absconding and unless he is secured, the whereabout of the goods cannot be traced. 3.

Considering the above facts, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Hence, the Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. 19.08.2025 rpl To 1.The Inspector of Police, Ennore Police Station, Chennai District.
