The petitioner apprehending arrest for the alleged offence under Sections 115(2), 118(1), 296(b) and 351(3) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, (BNS), 2023 and Section 4 of the Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002, in Crime 1/4

No.158 of 2025, based on the complaint given by one Srinivasan, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondent Police submits that the case in Crime No.158 of 2025 was registered on 05.08.2025. It is a matter relating to property dispute and after investigation, the final report has also been filed before the learned Judicial Magistrate, Cheyyur.

3. Considering the fact that the respondent Police has completed the investigation and filed the final report and that the arrest of the petitioner is not required, the petition for anticipatory bail apprehending arrest does not carry any merit. Hence, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. However, the petitioner shall appear before the learned Judicial Magistrate, on receipt of summons.
