ORDER

By consent of both sides, this Criminal Original Petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The profile of every history sheeter has to be periodically

reviewed at least once in a year, as per the Police Standing Order Nos.746 and 749.

3. The petitioner's request in the present petition is for a direction to remove his name from the history sheet in H.S.No.788 of 2013. In this regard, the petitioner has also gave a representation dated 31.7.2017 and since, the same has not been considered till date, it has necessitated him to file the present petition.

4. It is the submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner that the case in which the petitioner was implicated earlier had ended in acquittal.

5. Since the representation has been made very recently to the respondents, it would not be appropriate to issue a direction as sought for in the present petition. However, in the interests of justice, it would be appropriate to direct the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 31.7.2017, on its own merits, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. The Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with the above direction.
