By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2.The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner was initially appointed as Grade-II Police Constable in Tamil Nadu Police Service on 31.10.1997. Subsequently he was promoted as Grade-I Constable in the year 2007 and thereafter the petitioner participated in selection for direct recruitment to the post of Sub-Inspector of Police for the year 1997-98 conducted by Tamil Nadu Uniformed Service Recruitment Board. Accordingly he was selected and appointed as Sub-Inspector of Police in the year 2018 and the said selection to the post of Sub-Inspector of Police for 1997-98 was delayed due to filing of writ petitions and thereafter appointment for the selection of the year 1997-98 https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

was made only in the year 2018. in the meanwhile, the petitioner had worked as B.T.Assistant (Maths) in Elementary Education Department from 09.02.2009 till he was relieved from the service on 01.06.2018. Accordingly he had rendered more nine years of service as B.T.Assistant in Elementary Education Department. After being appointed as Sub-Inspector of Police, he made representations dated 06.07.2018 and 08.09.2018 to consider the period of service rendered in Education Department for the benefit of pay and other service benefits in Police Department, but till date the same have been not considered. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present petition. 3.Heard both sides.

4.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if a direction is issued to the respondents to consider the representations of the petitioner dated 06.07.2018 and 08.09.2018 and pass orders, within a stipulated time fixed by this Court.

5.Though the petitioner has sought for a larger relief, this Court without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representations dated 06.07.2018 and 08.09.2018 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

6.With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
