The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 3 and 4 to accept the petitioner's second application bearing Application No.62404724 (applied under the Government and Management quota) and to permit the petitioner to participate in Round 2, Round 3 and Stray Vacancy Round of the Counselling for allotment of candidates to M.B.B.S./ B.D.S./B.A.M.S/B.V.Sc and AH (National-Self-Supporting) for the year 2024 - 2025 in relation to Admission Notification dated 28.07.2024 bearing Ref.No.CENTAC/UG-NEET/2024/02.
2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is a medical aspirant and he cleared NEET (UG) Examination, 2024 with 453 marks. The learned counsel further submitted that the counselling for allotment of candidates to M.B.B.S./ B.D.S./B.A.M.S/B.V.Sc. and A.H. (National Self-Supporting and NRI) Courses for the year 2024 - 2025 was notified by the State Counselling Authority, CENTAC on 28.07.2024. The candidates seeking admission must apply online through the CENTAC website. Initially, the last date for submission of applications is on 06.08.2024 and the same was extended till 08.08.2024.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner further submitted that the petitioner submitted his application for the said counselling on 01.08.2024 and on the same date he received a receipt for successful application. While submitting the application on 01.08.2024, the petitioner inadvertently selected and applied for seats in Government Quota only option claiming Residence of Puducherry status and thereafter he realized the mistake in selecting the drop menu as 'Government Quota only'. Hence he made second application on 06.08.2024 and on the same date he received a receipt for successful application. The second application number is 62404724. 4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner further submitted that the draft list for both Government Quota and Management Quota was published on 14.08.

The petitioner was under fond hope that his second application was taken on record, however, his first application alone was taken on record.

Hence, the petitioner's Father submitted representation dated 23.09.2024 to the fourth respondent seeking to re-consider the petitioner's second application bearing Application No.62404724 and permit the petitioner to participate in the second and other round of allotment under Government and Management Quota, however, the same has not yet been considered.
5.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner further submitted that without going into the merits of the case, this Court may issue direction to the respondents to consider the representation dated 23.09.2024 submitted by the petitioner's Father and to pass appropriate orders, within a reasonable time frame. 6.Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the respondents to consider the representation dated 23.09.2024 submitted by the petitioner's Father, on merits and in accordance with law and to pass appropriate orders, within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this 5/7

7.The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. No costs.
