The petitioner seeks anticipatory bail in Crime No.236 of 2023 registered by the respondent police for the offence punishable under Section 4(1)(aaa) of Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act.

2. It is stated that the petitioner was found in possession of 855 bottles of TASMAC liquor. It is seen that the was transporting the liquor in a vehicle bearing Regn.No.TN-54-U-7984.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is only the driver and did not have the knowledge about the cargo which he was transporting.

4. However, taking into consideration the large quantity, which would only be sold in black market, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. The respondent is put on notice that this is the second anticipatory bail application which has been dismissed by this Court.
